Maintaining and repairing solar panels is typically easy and mostly affordable. That said, you should leave repairs to solar panels, solar inverters, and other solar installation components to the professionals. At Cromwell Solar, we have decades of experience installing, maintaining and repairing solar panel systems, and we have the tools and knowledge to keep your solar panels running safely and reliably.
Cromwell handles all aspects of ongoing solar maintenance and repairs to both residential and commercial solar projects. We start with a proper diagnosis of your issues, and handle all aspects of your solar panel repair, whether that’s resetting inverters and solar monitoring services or removing and reinstalling your entire solar project
If installed properly, a solar panel installation will last for decades with little need for service. But solar panels can be damaged by very large hail and super high winds during storms, and components of a solar system like inverters can occasionally need servicing. Additionally, we sometimes see poor quality solar installations from other companies that need to be altered or updated.
Most solar installation firms, which often subcontract their work to others, don’t have the skills or resources to conduct solar panel repairs. Cromwell Solar is staffed by a team of professional, in-house solar installation experts, and we have over 40 years of experience in designing, installing, and repairing solar projects all across Kansas and Missouri.
Cromwell solar projects are all covered by a 10-year workmanship warranty and manufacturer’s warranty on solar panels of at least 25-30 years and inverter warranty of at least 10 years. Cromwell Solar is happy to work on warranty calls for projects not installed by Cromwell.
Cromwell Solar regularly installs, and is certified to repair, almost all brands of solar inverters, solar panels, solar battery systems, Tesla Powerwalls, EV chargers, and Generac generators. Solar panel squirrel guards
If you have trees near your home in Kansas or Missouri you need to have a squirrel guard (also called a critter guard) installed. Squirrels and other animals love to crawl under solar panels and chew on the wires, causing damage to solar panel systems. Cromwell can repair or replace damaged solar panels or solar inverters and install a squirrel guard.
Particularly in suburban parts of Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, and similar areas in Kansas and Missouri we have a real abundance of damaging squirrels (maybe it's all the oaks and walnut trees or the bird feeders) around our houses and often have trees close to the roofs, giving squirrels easy access. Cromwell Solar always installs “squirrel guards” or “critter guards” on our residential solar projects to help prevent the little destructive animals from moving in, and keep your solar investment safe.
If your solar project in Kansas or Missouri does not have squirrel guards, give us a call! Cromwell is happy to install guards on any residential solar panels, regardless of whether we installed it or not.
Solar panel removal and reinstall
In Kansas and Missouri we often get damaging thunderstorms, tornados, and hail. While solar panels themselves often weather this type of storm just fine, the shingles not protected by solar panels may be damaged enough that a roof replacement is needed. That also means your solar panels will need to be removed and reinstalled.
It is incredible how many solar installers won’t answer your call when you need help with an insurance claim on the solar panels they installed. Not to worry, Cromwell Solar performs solar panel removals and reinstallations, no matter who installed your panels in the first place. Our experts will get your home solar project back up and running and coordinate with your insurance carrier and your roofer to get your solar panels removed and reinstalled in no time.
Your homeowner’s insurance policy will almost always cover the cost to remove solar panels to allow reroofing to happen and then reinstall your solar panels when the shingles are back on. Cromwell Solar has decades of experience working with insurance companies on roofing claims due to storm damage, and we know how to make sure you get all the coverage you are entitled to.
Cromwell Solar will coordinate with your roofer or use our own roofers to complete the project, always communicating with you throughout the entire process. At the completion of your solar panel removal and replacement, your solar panels will be reinstalled according to the most stringent industry codes. When the solar reinstallation is done, your panels will be back up and working better than before.
